This Moderation Policy explains how VTUSync reviews content and accounts, what actions we may take when rules are broken, and how moderation connects to our other policies. It works together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Anti‑Abuse & Reporting Policy.
By using VTUSync, you agree that your content and activity may be reviewed and moderated according to this Policy.
1. What VTUSync moderates
Moderation applies to most user activity on VTUSync, including:
- Profiles, usernames, bios, and profile photos
- Posts, notes, comments, reactions, and media
- Gigs, jobs, internships, and event listings
- Messages and group chats (where technically and legally permitted)
- Any other content or behavior that affects the VTUSync community
We primarily moderate content that may break our Community Guidelines, facilitate cheating or illegal activity, or create safety risks for students.
2. How moderation works
VTUSync uses a combination of automated systems and human review:
- Automated systems may detect and flag spam, obvious scams, malicious links, or patterns of abusive behavior.
- Human moderators review serious, complex, or borderline cases, especially those reported by users.
Moderation can happen:
- Proactively (based on automated detection or internal reviews).
- Reactively (after user reports through in‑app tools or email).
VTUSync is not required to pre‑screen all content before it is visible, and some harmful content may appear before it is detected and removed.
3. What we look for (policy violations)
Moderation decisions are based on VTUSync’s rules, especially:
- Community Guidelines (cheating, harassment, scams, illegal content, privacy violations, security abuse).
- Anti‑Abuse & Reporting Policy (patterns of abuse and misuse).
- Terms & Conditions (prohibited uses, safety, and legal obligations).
When reviewing a case, VTUSync may consider:
- Severity of the violation (e.g., exam leak vs. minor off‑topic content).
- Intent (malicious vs. accidental).
- Frequency and history (first‑time mistake vs. repeated behavior).
- Impact and risk to other users or institutions.
4. Possible moderation actions
Depending on the situation, VTUSync may take one or more of the following actions:
- No action: If content does not violate any policy.
- Content removal or editing restrictions: Hiding, deleting, or limiting visibility of posts, comments, media, gigs, events, or profile elements.
- Warnings and education: Sending notices about which rule was violated and how to avoid it in the future.
- Feature limits: Temporarily restricting posting, commenting, messaging, or creating listings.
- Account restrictions: Temporarily limiting access to the account or requiring extra verification.
- Suspension or permanent ban: Temporarily or permanently disabling the account, and in some cases blocking related accounts or devices.
- Escalation to third parties: When legally permitted or required, sharing limited information with educational institutions, payment providers, or law enforcement (for example, in cases of exam leaks, serious threats, or illegal content).
For serious violations (cheating, illegal content, severe harassment, security attacks), VTUSync often skips straight to strong actions such as permanent bans.
5. Transparency and notifications
Where possible, VTUSync will:
- Show in‑app messages or emails when your content is removed or when your account/feature access is restricted.
- Indicate a general reason category (e.g., “harassment”, “cheating/academic misconduct”, “spam”, “security abuse”).
VTUSync may not disclose all details of detection logic, internal tools, or reports to prevent bad actors from gaming the system. Some actions (like silent de‑ranking or limited distribution) may not always be obvious to users.
6. User reports and abuse of the reporting system
VTUSync relies on user reports to catch issues our systems miss.
- When you report something, you authorize VTUSync to review relevant content and associated data as described in our policies.
- VTUSync may combine multiple reports and signals to decide on severity and action.
Misusing the reporting tools (for example, filing multiple false reports just to target someone) is itself a violation and can lead to restriction or suspension of your account.
For details on reporting, see our Anti‑Abuse & Reporting Policy.
7. Appeals
If VTUSync takes an action you believe is a mistake:
- Use any appeal or review option available in the app; or
- Email support@vtusync.in from your registered email with:
- Your username
- The action taken (e.g., “post removed”, “account suspended”)
- A brief explanation of why you believe it was wrong
VTUSync may:
- Uphold the decision
- Modify the action (e.g., shorten a suspension, restore some content)
- Reverse the decision
For severe violations (e.g., exam leaks, illegal content involving minors, serious threats, or repeated abuse), VTUSync usually does not reinstate accounts.
8. Relationship with other policies
This Moderation Policy is part of the broader VTUSync policy framework and should be read alongside:
