VTUSync is a student‑first platform designed for real learning, collaboration, and opportunities—not for cheating, harassment, or scams. These Community Guidelines describe what is expected from everyone who uses VTUSync and what is not tolerated.
These Guidelines work together with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy. By using VTUSync, you agree to follow all of them.
VTUSync uses a strict, zero‑tolerance approach for serious violations (especially cheating, illegal content, and severe abuse). Violating these rules can lead to content removal, feature restrictions, immediate account suspension or permanent ban, and, where appropriate and legally permitted, notification to colleges, universities, or authorities.
If you do not agree with these Guidelines, do not use VTUSync.
1. Academic integrity: absolutely no cheating
VTUSync exists to help you understand and improve your academics, not to bypass them.
You must not:
- Share, request, trade, or sell leaked exam papers, internal question banks, or answer keys that are not publicly and lawfully available.
- Coordinate cheating, impersonation, proxy exam writing, or any method of gaining unfair academic advantage.
- Post completed assignments, lab records, projects, or reports for others to submit as their own work.
- Offer “solving services” meant to be submitted directly by someone else in violation of college/university rules.
What VTUSync may do:
- Immediately remove such content without warning.
- Permanently suspend or ban accounts involved in exam leaks or organized cheating.
- Where allowed and appropriate, cooperate with educational institutions or authorities if there is serious academic misconduct.
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, assume that anything that helps someone cheat or break your institution’s academic rules is not allowed on VTUSync.
2. Harassment, hate, and abuse: zero tolerance
VTUSync must be safe for all students, regardless of background.
You must not:
- Bully, harass, or stalk any user or group, including repeated unwanted messages or targeted insults.
- Use slurs, hateful language, or threats based on caste, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, ethnicity, or any other protected characteristic.
- Encourage self‑harm or suicide, or mock people who are struggling with mental health.
- Encourage violence or serious harm against any person or group.
Examples of violation:
- Creating a thread to collectively target or “expose” a specific student or teacher in a harmful way.
- Sending direct messages that include threats of physical harm.
- Posting content that glorifies violence or calls for attacks on a group.
What VTUSync may do:
- Remove abusive content and restrict replies or messaging.
- Temporarily or permanently ban users for severe or repeated harassment or hate.
- In cases of credible threats or imminent danger, share relevant information with authorities as required by law.
If someone is in immediate danger, you should contact local authorities first, and then report the content to VTUSync.
3. Scams, fraud, and fake opportunities: not allowed
VTUSync supports genuine gigs, internships, events, and jobs—not scams.
You must not:
- Post fake gigs, jobs, or internships to trick users into paying money or sharing sensitive data.
- Demand “registration fees”, “security deposits”, or “training charges” for clearly suspicious or non‑transparent opportunities.
- Impersonate recruiters, companies, or college offices to gain trust.
- Run pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, or “get rich quick” offers.
Examples of violation:
- Posting a high‑paying work‑from‑home job that requires an upfront payment to “unlock” the role.
- Pretending to be part of a college placement cell when you are not.
- Using VTUSync to collect money or personal data for non‑existent events or courses.
What VTUSync may do:
- Remove suspicious listings and restrict posting privileges.
- Permanently ban accounts involved in clear scam patterns.
- Where necessary, cooperate with payment partners or authorities on fraud investigations.
Always research and verify any gig, job, or event before sending money or sharing sensitive information.
4. Illegal, harmful, and adult content: strictly prohibited
VTUSync must comply with Indian law and other applicable laws.
You must not post or share:
- Content involving minors in a sexualized way, or any child sexual abuse content (CSAM).
- Extremist, terrorist, or violent propaganda.
- Graphic depictions of extreme violence meant to shock or glorify harm.
- Illegal goods or services, including drugs, weapons, or identity documents.
- Explicit sexual content or pornography, especially in a student context.
What VTUSync may do:
- Immediately remove such content and permanently ban involved accounts.
- Make mandatory reports to law enforcement or other authorities when required by law.
- Restrict related features for users who have previously violated these rules.
In borderline cases (for example, educational medical content), context matters and VTUSync may restrict visibility or require extra safeguards.
5. Privacy, doxxing, and impersonation: respect others
Students and educators must feel safe sharing and connecting.
You must not:
- Share someone else’s personal or identifying information without clear permission (for example, phone numbers, home addresses, private photos, internal marksheets, admin login screenshots).
- Expose someone’s private conversations or data in a way meant to shame or harm them.
- Pretend to be another person, student, teacher, staff member, institution, or brand.
- Use VTUSync branding, logos, or similar names in a way that confuses users about who you are or who runs the platform.
Examples of violation:
- Posting a screenshot of a private chat with someone’s personal info visible, just to target them.
- Creating a fake profile that looks like an official college account or VTUSync.
- Sharing leaked admin dashboards or internal college logins.
What VTUSync may do:
- Remove doxxing content and restrict sharing.
- Reset or remove misleading usernames and display names.
- Suspend or ban accounts that impersonate others or repeatedly violate privacy.
If someone is misusing your identity on VTUSync, contact support@vtusync.in with proof.
6. Security, hacking, and technical abuse: forbidden
VTUSync’s systems and user data must remain secure.
You must not:
- Attempt to hack, bypass, probe, or test VTUSync systems without authorization.
- Inject malware, phishing links, or harmful scripts into posts, messages, or profiles.
- Use bots, scripts, or automation to create accounts, scrape data, spam, or manipulate metrics, unless explicitly allowed by VTUSync.
- Misuse reporting tools to target innocent users or to try to trigger false bans.
Examples of violation:
- Trying to brute‑force logins or exploit app endpoints.
- Sending links to fake login pages to steal passwords.
- Mass‑creating accounts to spam gigs or events.
What VTUSync may do:
- Immediately suspend or ban accounts and associated devices.
- Log and share relevant technical details with security partners or authorities when needed.
- Implement additional security checks on your account or deny access entirely.
If you discover a real security vulnerability, report it responsibly to support@vtusync.in instead of exploiting it.
7. Content relevance, spam, and platform quality
VTUSync is for students, academics, and campus‑relevant content.
You should:
- Keep posts, notes, and events relevant to students, academics, skills, careers, campus life, and related topics.
- Add accurate titles, clear descriptions, and correct tags so others understand what your content is about.
You must not:
- Post repetitive, low‑effort, or irrelevant content just to gain attention or followers.
- Mass‑post the same content across multiple spaces or branches in a short time.
- Use VTUSync primarily for unrelated advertising (e.g., generic e‑commerce ads, unrelated services) without explicit permission.
What VTUSync may do:
- Reduce visibility of spammy content or accounts.
- Limit posting frequency, commenting, or messaging for accounts that behave like spam.
- Remove or restrict accounts that treat VTUSync only as an ad board.
Quality content helps everyone; spam harms the entire community.
8. Reporting problems and how moderation works
VTUSync moderation is a mix of automated systems and human review.
When you see a violation, you should:
- Use in‑app Report options where available (on posts, profiles, or messages).
- Or email support@vtusync.in with your registered email, a clear description, and screenshots if needed.
What VTUSync may consider:
- The severity of the violation.
- Whether it’s a repeated pattern or a one‑time mistake.
- Potential risk to others (for example, leaked papers vs. minor off‑topic posts).
Possible actions:
- No action (if the content does not violate policies).
- Warning or education message.
- Content removal or visibility limits.
- Temporary feature restrictions (posting, commenting, messaging).
- Temporary suspension or permanent ban.
- Escalation to institutions or authorities when required by law or necessary for safety.
VTUSync is not required to explain every moderation decision in full detail but aims to act fairly and firmly, especially on serious violations.
9. Appeals: when and how you can contest a decision
In some cases, you may disagree with VTUSync’s enforcement action.
You may be able to appeal if:
- Your content was removed but you believe it follows these Guidelines.
- Your account was suspended or restricted, and you believe this was done in error.
How to appeal:
- Use any in‑app appeal option if shown.
- Or email support@vtusync.in from your registered email, including:
- Your username/USN (if used as identifier).
- The action taken (e.g., “post removed”, “account suspended”).
- A brief, clear explanation of why you think it’s a mistake.
Important points:
- VTUSync may uphold, modify, or reverse the action at its sole discretion.
- VTUSync may decline repeated or abusive appeals, especially where violations are clear and severe.
- For serious violations (cheating, illegal content, severe harassment, security abuse), bans are typically not reversed.
10. Relationship with other VTUSync policies
These Community Guidelines are part of the overall VTUSync policy framework and should be read together with:
- Terms & Conditions: https://app.vtusync.in/terms-conditions/
- Privacy Policy: https://app.vtusync.in/privacy-policy/
- Cookie Policy: https://app.vtusync.in/cookie-policy/
- Third‑Party Services & Data Usage Policy: https://app.vtusync.in/third-party-services-data-usage-policy/
If there is any conflict between these Guidelines and the Terms & Conditions, the Terms & Conditions usually control the legal interpretation, but VTUSync still applies these rules for moderation and safety.
VTUSync may update these Guidelines at any time. When we do, we update the “Last updated” date and may show a notice in the app or on our website. Continued use of VTUSync after changes means you accept the updated Guidelines.
11. Final reminder
Using VTUSync is a privilege, not a right. VTUSync may remove content or restrict, suspend, or terminate any account at any time if we believe you are violating these Guidelines, creating risk, or harming other users, even if your behavior is not covered in every detail above.
- You break these Guidelines or the Terms & Conditions.
- You create risk or potential legal exposure for VTUSync or others.
- You seriously damage the experience or safety of the community.
If you want to stay on VTUSync:
- Do your own work.
- Respect others.
- Avoid scams and illegal activity.
- Help make VTUSync a place where students genuinely learn and grow.
