Account Deactivation & Removal Policy

Last updated: 11 December 2025

This Account Deactivation and Removal Policy explains how you can deactivate or delete your VTUSync account, what happens when you do, and when VTUSync may deactivate or remove accounts for policy violations. It works together with our Terms & ConditionsPrivacy PolicyCommunity Guidelines, and other policies.

1. What deactivation and removal mean

Deactivation temporarily hides your account and content from other users while keeping most of your data intact. You can reactivate the account later if you choose.

Removal permanently deletes your account and associated data from VTUSync systems (subject to legal retention requirements). Removal is irreversible and cannot be undone.

Both actions may take some time to fully process due to backups and caches, but your data will no longer be visible or accessible through the app.

2. How to deactivate or remove your account

You can manage your account status through the VTUSync app:

To deactivate your account:

  1. Open VTUSync settings in the app.
  2. Go to Account > Deactivate account.
  3. Follow the prompts to confirm.

Your profile, posts, comments, gigs, and events will become hidden from other users. You can reactivate by logging back in within the deactivation period (typically 30 days).

To remove (permanently delete) your account:

  1. Open VTUSync settings.
  2. Go to Account > Delete account.
  3. Review what will be deleted and confirm.
  4. VTUSync will process the deletion, which may take up to 30 days to complete.

What happens to your data:

  • Profile information, posts, comments, messages, and content you created will be removed.
  • Data you shared with others (for example, comments on their posts) may remain visible to those users unless they also delete it.
  • Some data (such as logs for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance) may be kept longer, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

3. When VTUSync deactivates or removes accounts

VTUSync may deactivate or permanently remove accounts when users violate policies or create risks. This can happen with or without prior warning, depending on severity.

Accounts may be deactivated or removed for:

  • Serious policy violations: Cheating, exam leaks, hate speech, severe harassment, scams, illegal content, or security abuse (as defined in Community Guidelines).
  • Repeated violations: Multiple warnings or moderate infractions that show a pattern of misuse.
  • High‑risk behaviour: Suspicious activity that suggests fraud, impersonation, or automated abuse.
  • Legal requirements: Court orders, law enforcement requests, or compliance with Indian data protection or other laws.
  • Inactive accounts: Very old accounts with no activity may be deactivated to maintain platform health (users can usually reactivate by logging in).

What happens when VTUSync removes an account:

  • All user content is deleted or anonymised.
  • The username becomes available for others (after a cooldown period).
  • Associated IP addresses or devices may be flagged to prevent immediate re‑registration with abusive intent.
  • Data retention follows our Privacy Policy (for example, security logs may be kept longer for legitimate business or legal reasons).

4. Appeals for VTUSync enforcement actions

If VTUSync deactivates or removes your account and you believe it was a mistake:

  • Check for any in‑app appeal option or notification explaining the action.
  • Email support@vtusync.in from your registered email with:
    • Your username
    • Approximate date of the action
    • A clear explanation of why you believe it was wrong

VTUSync may:

  • Uphold the decision if the violation was clear and serious.
  • Reverse or modify the action if there was an error or new information.

Important notes:

  • Appeals for severe violations (cheating, hate speech, illegal content, serious scams) are rarely successful.
  • VTUSync may not provide detailed internal moderation reasoning to prevent abuse of the system.
  • There is no guaranteed timeline for appeal responses; complex cases may take time to review.

5. Reactivating deactivated accounts

If your account was deactivated by you:

  • Log back into VTUSync using your credentials within the deactivation window (typically 30 days).
  • Your account and content will become visible again.

If your account was deactivated by VTUSync:

  • Appeal as described above. If approved, the account may be reactivated.
  • If not appealed or if the appeal is denied, the account may be scheduled for permanent removal.

6. Data after account removal

Once your account is permanently removed (by you or VTUSync):

  • Personal profile data, posts, comments, messages, and user‑generated content are deleted from active systems.
  • Any data shared with third parties (for example, payment processors) remains subject to their retention policies.
  • VTUSync may keep limited information for legitimate reasons:
    • Security and fraud prevention (for example, IP logs, device fingerprints).
    • Legal compliance and defence of claims.
    • Business analytics in aggregated or de‑identified form.

Details on data retention and your rights are in our Privacy Policy.

7. Creating new accounts

If your original account was removed by VTUSync for violations:

  • You may not create new accounts to bypass the removal.
  • New accounts created by banned users will be identified and removed when detected.
  • Repeated attempts to evade bans may lead to device or IP restrictions.

If you deleted your own account and want to return:

  • You can create a new account after the deletion process completes.
  • However, usernames from deleted accounts may not be immediately available.

8. Changes to this policy

VTUSync may update this Account Deactivation and Removal Policy as features change or legal requirements evolve. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and may show a notice in the app or on our website.

Continued use of VTUSync after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.

9. Contact VTUSync

If you have questions about account deactivation, removal, or appeals:

  • Email: support@vtusync.in
  • Use a clear subject line such as “Account deactivation appeal” or “Account removal question”.

For help with account settings or deletion requests, check the in‑app settings first or contact support.
